The last six months I've been banging away at my keyboard to write a weekly Substack. It's been a ton of fun. I've written over 50,000 words in newsletters so far and some of the most popular ones have been:
I've always loved to write — from blog posts to books — but was "out of the game" the last couple of years as I was focusing on my startup. Now that I'm not doing that anymore, I feel a tremendous sense of freedom and creativity pouring out.
One of my core beliefs is that everyone is creative. It doesn't matter whether that's baking a cake, painting or writing a Substack. When I'm stuck or feel like 'something is missing,' expressing myself creatively usually helps untangle the knot. As we start the new year, why not pick up something creative?
This year I'll continue to share my story. Here's what you can expect from me:
1. Two posts per week. A longer-form post every week, along with a "Monday Muse" post to share what I found interesting from that week. I have a few more things to say about burnout - stay tuned as the story gets juicier :)
2. More interesting stuff. I plan to include different types of content like podcast interviews, YouTube videos and more gif-filled posts. I'll also be tinkering harder...like seeing how different types of meditation impact my brainwaves.
3. Paid content. Substack only promotes paid writers, which means that one of the best ways for me to grow is to charge a small fee. I also need to pay the bills. Most of my content is still accessible under a free tier, but if you want to support my writing please consider going paid.
Thanks for being a reader — it means a lot to me. I'm looking forward to seeing where the new year takes us and hope you have a great one!
