How do we make peace with conflict in our lives?
The first step is to bring awareness to your beliefs and thoughts and become aware of your patterns.
In this meditation, I invite you to put your conflict with a person into perspective, inspired by a version of the RAIN meditation.
There are a few ingredients:
Notice your emotions and where you feel them
Put things into perspective: how would you feel if it were your last few days on earth?
Question the stories and beliefs you have around this — do you have to be right?
Remember the Rumi quote:
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
We can move beyond our desire to find an absolute right or wrong, letting go of our ego’s tendency to be self-righteous and cling to ideas and opinions.
Dealing with conflict is a process that can take time to sort out, both internally and externally. Be patient and give it the space it needs.
