In this practice, we expand our visual field of awareness from a fixed point to a wider gaze — taking it all in.
Many meditation traditions invite you to start with some stabilizing practice, like the breath, but as you progress you go to a wider stance that includes all thoughts, emotions, sounds, sights, feelings etc.
You can take this view or way of looking at things with both eyes open and eyes closed. It’s the sort of soft gaze that you take when looking at a sunset, or a mountain range, or up at the sky.
Enjoy!
